Details: Hand Turned Rosewood Bowl
Hand-turned from Cocobolo wood (Dalbergia retusa). The term "Rosewood" is commonly used to describe many different trees, which can be confusing and misleading. Only trees in the Dalbergia genus are true rosewoods. True rosewoods grow in many places - Mexico, Central and South America, Africa, Madagascar, India, and tropical Asia. Cocobolo comes from Central America. Today, it is farm-grown and may be harvested responsibly as a renewable resource. Costa Rica in particular tightly controls the harvesting of Cocobolo.
